GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE
- This three-day course introduces participants to the Capability Maturity Model® Integration
(CMMI®) fundamental concepts. CMMI models are tools that help organizations improve their ability to develop and maintain
quality products and services. CMMI models are an integration of best practices from proven process improvement models,
including the CMM® for Software, EIA 731, and the Integrated Product Development CMM. This course focuses on both Staged
and Continuous representations.
- This course is a prerequisite for Assessment Team Members and for candidates who wish to
attend CMMI Lead Appraiser or CMMI Instructor Training
AUDIENCE FOR THE PROGRAM
- Systems and software engineering managers and practitioners, CMMI appraisal team members,
Engineering Process Group (e.g., SEPG, EPG) members, Software Quality Assurance team members and Senior Management.
- Members from Organization who intend to implement in CMMI in future
- Those who want to qualify for Assessment Team Training or Lead Assessor Training
- Future managers including management students
- Any other professional members who are doing research, innovations or consulting in process
improvement practices
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites to this course.
Topics covered during
the Program
Introduction, Model-based process improvement, Overview of CMMI models and the staged representation, Maturity levels,
Process areas of CMMI models, Interpreting CMMI in the context of implementation, How organizations have benefited from
CMMI, Sharing implementation experience.
Objective
The course will help participants to:
- understand at a high level the CMMI Product
Suite
- be able to locate and begin to apply relevant
information in the model for their organization
- understand the key concepts about model
structure and function, and important model relationships
- be aware of the components of the CMMI
models and how they may be applied to their organization
- apply CMMI principles to meet their organizations'
business objectives

Certificate/Credits
On successful completion participants who will receive a certificate
from the Instructor, which is recognized by SEI.
