Russell
Parera - Chief Executive Officer
Russell Parera is the Chief Executive Officer for KPMG's operations in India and a member of the International Council of KPMG.
Russell is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in India, having been admitted to membership in 1988. Aged 41, he joined KPMG in 1988 in the UAE office and in 1994 was transferred to Financial Services Business Unit of KPMG. He returned to the Mumbai office in 1997 where he has held a number of key, client facing and management roles.
Russell's core industry focus has been the financial sector. He has led or served on a number of major client service teams both in India and in the Middle East. He has been extensively involved in Financial Services clients across banks, asset managers, broker / dealers and insurance companies.
Russell has worked on several acquisitions and due diligence reviews in the financial services sector. He plays an advisory role in projects assisting entry strategies in the financial services sector including commercial banking, asset management, investment banking etc. He has experience in the audit of multinational companies and large Indian organizations operating in India for local as well as reporting under US GAAP/IFRS. He has also had exposure to a cross section of industries including oil & gas, contracting, information technology, BPO and pharmaceuticals to name a few.
Richard
Rekhy - Chief Operating Officer
Richard qualified as a Chartered Account in November 1983, he is
the Chief Operating Officer from 01st July 2006 within KPMG in India.
Before this, he was the Head of RAS within KPMG. Prior to joining
KPMG, he was a Partner with Ernst & Young in their Risk and
Business Solutions group heading South India and with Arthur Andersen
in their Assurance and Business Advisory division before that.
Pradip kanakia - NationaL Head of markets
Pradip’s career at KPMG spans 22 years, having joined in 1985 in KPMG London in Audit. Pradip worked with KPMG Dubai in Audit for more than 8 years. During that period, he also assisted in the setting up of the KPMG Mumbai office in 1993 at the inception of KPMG India. He joined KPMG India as an audit partner in their Bangalore office in April 1998. His roles have included Audit Partner, National Industry Director for Consumer and Industrial Markets, Head of Markets and Knowledge Management, Head of Risk Advisory Services and presently National Head of Markets. Pradip is also a member of the Leadership Team of KPMG India and a member of the Global Client Issues (CIB) Board.
Pradip has been an engagement partner for several prestigious clients in India, mainly listed Indian and multinational companies in Audit and Advisory capacity.
Pradip sits on the Governing Council of Young Indians (a sister organization of CII) whose main objective is to harness the talent and energy of Youth in nation building. Pradip has also conducted a series of Independent Directors workshops in Mumbai and Delhi to educate independent directors about the implications of Clause 49- the new corporate governance legislation introduced in India in 2005.
